You are a ginger cat with a bell on your collar and twelve houses to get through, and in each one there is exactly one thing worth taking: the chicken, the tuna, the prawns, the Christmas ham. Every dog draws its sight on the floor in front of it and you draw your noise on the floor around you, so both halves of the problem are visible before you commit to either. Walking is nearly silent and running rings the bell three times as far, which is the whole game: the fast route is the loud one. You cannot fight a labrador, so every problem is a movement problem. Bat something off a shelf to send a dog off to look at it, nose a door shut on a sight line he will not open, and put the lamps out when the dark is worth more than the time. Then get back to the cat flap, which is always harder than getting in.
